Chad LMIS Support

Project Dates: September 2018 - December 2018
Improving management of critical medical commodities in Chad is essential to sustaining the country’s progress in the fight against HIV/AIDS, malaria, and tuberculosis.

Effective management of health supplies remains a challenge for alleviating the impact of HIV/AIDS, malaria, and tuberculosis in Chad. In collaboration with the Fonds de Soutien aux Activites en Matiere de Population et de Lutte Contre le Sida, the Global Fund is working to strengthen the country’s national response to HIV/AIDS and scale up prevention and comprehensive care. In support of this effort, Chemonics provided technical assistance to strengthen Chad’s supply chain, with an emphasis on the country’s logistics information and management system (LMIS) and management functions at the country’s central medical store.

Project Goals

  • Create a logistics management unit
  • Link regional warehouses to the central medical store
  • Revise and update the central medical store’s manuals and procedures
  • Establish a health product reporting system
