Welcome to Chemonics-Washington, the U.S. corporate office for Chemonics International. Our building is a welcoming gathering point for Chemonics’ global workforce, clients, and the DC community. The environment was designed to reflect the energy and multicultural nature of our company’s mission. These QR codes have been placed around the building to share information in a streamlined way. If you are using a laptop or tablet, there are free apps available that will allow you to easily read a QR code. If you are using a smartphone, simply point your camera at the QR code, and you will be directed to information on a variety of topics.

Chemonics-Washington was designed to support the needs of our staff, partners, clients, and visitors. Engaging external experts, such as Disability:IN, and internal stakeholders, including Chemonics’ D&I team and ChemABLE, ensured that the building meets or exceeds compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act. Health and Wellness Benefits

Chemonics is committed to providing a healthy and caring work environment. Cigna health insurance offers U.S.-based staff comprehensive, affordable coverage for a wide range of healthcare services. U.S.-based and benefits eligible employees receive an expendables allowance (formerly known as the commuter allowance), are enrolled in company paid life and disability insurance, and may elect to enroll in supplemental life insurance, flexible spending accounts and/or two retirement savings vehicles.

Employee Assistance and Resilience Program/KonTerra

The Employee Assistance & Resilience Program through the KonTerra Group provides all corporate and project employees and their families direct access to private consultations and counseling sessions, coaching and management support, personalized referrals, and resiliency resources, at no cost. The EARP can be accessed directly through the KonTerra website, by email, or by phone. All EARP sessions are confidential.

Facilities-Related

Work Stations

Staff will use Condeco to reserve workstations via the web or mobile app. Workstations can be found using a simple search that shows locations and availability. You should log on to Condeco each day to confirm your work location. Seats can be reserved based on your preferred work settings, including the third-floor quiet zone designed for heads-down, focused work.

Every workstation has sit/stand desks and sit/stand desks and ergonomic chairs. Additionally, all desks are equipped with an extra-wide, curved monitor that serves as a docking station and has a built-in camera and speakers.

How to Use Coffee Machines

There are a variety of hot and cold beverage options available around the building, including coffee, tea, water, and kombucha. Commonwealth Joe cold brew machines are in The Hub and Café 75.  Throughout the building you can help yourself to hot coffee and tea from Bean to Cup Machines found in the second floor conference rooms, and 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th floor pantries. Security-Related

LiveSafe Mobile App

LiveSafe is a mobile safety application that provides staff with the following:

  • Contact 911 with one button
  • Contact security or Brookfield property management with one button
  • The ability to anonymously report an emergency tip and add a photo or video to send to the LiveSafe Command Dashboard
  • The opt-in activation of a Safewalk feature, which will allow a trusted contact to monitor your location while leaving the building, heading to the parking garage, or traveling out of town.

Do you have questions about LiveSafe? Check out their FAQs. The app is available in both the App Store or Google Play. Register and fill out your profile. Then under settings click “manage organizations” and search “Brookfield” then “1275 New Jersey Ave” to join the Chemonics-Washington network.

Innovation Lab

The Innovation Lab provides the resources, technology, and dedicated space to host workshops and events that foster innovation and partnerships. This may include:

  • Staff, consultant, and partner collaboration on the design, test, and launch of innovative solutions;
  • Design-thinking workshops;
  • Multi-day hackathons or innovation challenges;
  • Innovation showcases that exhibit Chemonics-led or supported innovations;
  • Community engagement activities promoting innovation and design-thinking.

Sustainability

Chemonics-Washington incorporates local, national, and global best practices for energy, indoor air quality, and resource and water conservation. The building’s exterior meets the criteria for LEED Gold certification, and the interior will achieve LEED Silver certification. High-efficiency lighting supplements the abundant natural light from floor-to-ceiling windows. All eligible equipment (including kitchen appliances and AV equipment) will be Energy Star labeled. Our Green Area Ratio of .435 (more than double the required score of .20) recognizes that the green spaces in and around the building promote greater livability, reduce stormwater runoff, improve air quality, and mitigate urban heat.
