Getting to Chemonics-Washington

Location and Transportation

Chemonics-Washington is located at 1275 New Jersey Ave., SE, Suite 200, Washington, D.C. 20003. 

Car

You will find secured underground parking beneath the building. The garage entrance is on Quander Street. All spaces are accessible by elevator. Please see goDCgo’s car-focused website for more information about parking, HOV lanes, ride-sharing, and other related resources.

Register at SemaConnect to be able to use the charging stations.   

Other lots or garages throughout the Capitol Riverfront or The Yards neighborhoods offer parking. Limited metered street parking is also available on the streets immediately surrounding the building. Apps like ParkWhiz or SpotHero may help you find spaces. Please see ParkDC’s website for more information on parking.   

Bicycle

Chemonics-Washington is in close proximity (0.5-mile radius) to 10 Capital Bikeshare stations. Several companies operate dockless bikes that can be unlocked via mobile apps. The District’s Department of Transportation site lists these companies, the number of bikes available, and how to get more information. There are also public bicycle racks to secure your personal bicycle in close proximity to the building.  

Bus

Several buses stop near Chemonics-Washington. Visit goDCgo’s bus-focused website for more information about bus routes and for other related resources. The WMATA trip planner tool also outlines public transportation options to Chemonics-Washington.  

Metro

Chemonics-Washington is close to four Metro lines.   

  • The Green line services the Navy Yard-Ballpark station. The walk to Chemonics-Washington from the station entrance at the northwest corner of M Street and New Jersey Avenue SE is approximately 3 minutes and 0.1 miles.  
  • The Blue, Orange, and Silver lines pass through Capitol South station. The walk to Chemonics-Washington from the station entrance at First Street and C Street SE is approximately 15 minutes and 0.75 miles.  

Water Taxi

City Cruises operates a water taxi connecting The Wharf to Georgetown, Old Town Alexandria, and National Harbor. The dock is approximately a 30-minute walk (1.3 miles) from Chemonics-Washington.

Accessing our Building

All Chemonics visitors must check-in at the security desk in the building lobby or at Chemonics reception desk upon entering the building. Visitors will be required to confirm their COVID-19 vaccination status and show a photo ID before receiving a temporary visitor pass. Temporary passes must be visible at all times in the building. Staff are expected to escort their visitors at all times while at the office. 

Safety and Security Approach

Chemonics is dedicated to providing a secure work environment and visitor experience for all by implementing proactive safety and security measures. We ask that visitors adhere to all security policies and procedures. In an emergency, your Chemonics sponsor is responsible for assisting you to the designated rally point.  

Chemonics prides itself on creating a workplace that puts the health and safety of our employees and visitors first. Everyone coming into Chemonics-Washington is required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Visitors will be asked for proof of vaccination as part of the visitor management process. To mitigate the risk of COVID-19 infections, we have implemented enhanced daily cleaning protocols to ensure the health and safety of our employees and visitors. Finally, we follow federal and local guidelines on masking. Currently, there is no requirement for masking on our premises.  

Office Amenities

Inside Café 75 on Chemonics-Washington’s third floor, you will find an ‘Honor Market’ which serves a variety of meals, snacks, and drinks. Simply grab what you would like, scan the items, and pay at the kiosk with either a credit or debit card. You will also find refreshments like hot coffee, tea, kombucha, and seltzer located throughout the building.
