Cecilia Barraza

Cecilia Barraza is a gender equity and access to justice expert with over 27 years of experience across Colombia and South America. She most recently led a U.S. government-funded Justice for Sustainable Peace program, guiding strategies to expand justice services and to prevent and respond to gender-based violence in conflict-affected regions. Cecilia has advised the Colombian government on national gender policies, strengthened civil society organizations supporting GBV survivors, and led prominent human rights NGOs. Her work integrates public policy, institutional reform, and community-based approaches to advance women’s rights, social inclusion, and long-term systemic change.
