Delivering Social Protection and Peacebuilding in Central Mali
In Central Mali, conflict and displacement have deepened poverty and fractured social cohesion. Chemonics is restoring stability through inclusive, community-led social protection. By delivering unconditional cash transfers to households and co-designing conflict prevention plans with local leaders, we’ve helped stabilize household economies, reduce protection risks, and elevate women as peacebuilders in their communities.
Protecting Children and Promoting Wellbeing in Northwest Syria
In Northwest Syria, years of conflict have left children vulnerable to trauma, violence, and disrupted education. Chemonics is creating safer, more inclusive learning environments by embedding safeguarding policies, expanding psychosocial support, and training educators in trauma-informed care. Since 2018, we’ve reached over 700,000 children and established more than 250 child-friendly spaces and safer classroom environments. With local partners, we’re building resilience, restoring hope, and laying the foundation for a safer future for Syria’s next generation.
