Capacity Development for Partners of Accountability Program (CDPA)

Project Dates: July 2013 - July 2017
In Tanzania, civil society organizations are working to make the government more responsive and accountable.

In Tanzania, civil society organizations (CSOs) are calling on the government to become more responsive to citizens’ needs and to make its decisions more transparent so citizens can better hold it accountable. The USAID Capacity Development for Partners of Accountability Program (CDPA) provided CSOs with technical and advocacy support to empower citizens involved in these efforts and increase governmental accountability. Focusing on Dar es Salaam, Dodoma, Iringa, Morogoro, Mtwara, and Zanzibar, CDPA taught CSOs in these areas how to engage in sustainable, issue-based dialogue; helped them improve their advocacy efforts; and contributed to their organizational development.
