Senior Manager, Energy Yawar Gilani

Yawar Gilani has more than 10 years of experience managing and implementing large, multi-stakeholder international development programs in the energy sector in Asia. He holds direct experience with utility modernization, particularly with power distribution companies. Yawar served as a senior engineer on a large USAID funded program in Pakistan to reform the power distribution companies by leading activities to improve and reform billing and collections systems, installation and commissioning of smart meters, and by introducing initiatives to reduce electricity theft. He also helps manage the global Energy II IDIQ contract and plays an active role on development of task order proposals. His business development experience includes developing bid strategies, structuring consortiums and partnerships, and identifying personnel for the implementation of projects. Yawar holds an M.Sc in advanced control systems and a B.Sc in electrical engineering from the University of Manchester in the United Kingdom.
