Maternal and Child Health Director, USAID Global Health Supply Chain Program-Procurement and Supply Management (GHSC-PSM) Project Jennifer Chavez
Jennifer Chavez has over 20 years of experience leading projects in supply chain, HIV/AIDS, community development, and political transition initiatives around the globe. She is currently serving as the maternal and child health director for Chemonics’ Global Health Supply Chain Program-Procurement and Supply Management (GHSC-PSM) project. Previously, she was a consultant for various organizations, including USAID, and as the country director for the GHSC-PSM project office in Zambia. Prior to working in Zambia, Ms. Chavez served as the director of technical coordination for Kenya Pharma. Here she led the overall strategy and management of the project with direct oversight of forecasting and quantification, procurement, supply chain logistics, field operations, and the development of an electronic supply chain management software application. Ms. Chavez has also served as deputy country director for John Snow, Inc. on a USAID-funded Zambia supply chain project. She began her career as a Peace Corps volunteer in Cameroon, where she focused on HIV prevention and treatment, water, sanitation, and health systems strengthening. Ms. Chavez holds a B.S. degree from Northwestern University and a MSc in Public Health in Developing Countries from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
