Chief of Party Dr. Shahzad S. Mithani
Shahzad S. Mithani is an education expert with experience in early grade reading improvement, teacher professional development, leadership and management, education sector planning and institutional strengthening, and community engagement. He currently serves as chief of party for the Kyrgyz Republic USAID: Quality Reading Program – Time to Read. Dr. Mithani has worked in the development and humanitarian sectors across thematic areas, including school health and nutrition; water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH); school construction; and vocational education. He is well-versed in qualitative and quantitative evaluation design and tools, including self-assessment tools for schools and the Early Grade Reading Assessment. He has also worked with graduate and certificate program candidates in education leadership and management and critical pedagogy in the Kyrgyz Republic and other countries in Central Asia. He holds a Ph.D. in education policy and administration – comparative and international development from the University of Minnesota.
