Zambia Country Director, USAID Global Health Supply Chain Program-Procurement and Supply Management (GHSC-PSM) Deogratius Kimera

Deogratius (Deo) Kimera is a pharmaceutical supply chain management expert, a public health specialist, and a leader with more than 25 years of international experience in health systems strengthening, including 1years serving as a country director for centrally awarded, multilateral USAID health supply chain projects in Botswana, Tanzania, Ghana, and ZambiaDeo has ample experience working with the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) across Africa. Since 2005, he has been practicing supply chain for HIV/AIDS; malaria; family planning; and maternal, newborn, and child health, working with development partners and various government counterparts to strengthen systems for health commodities availability and access to all communities. Prior to joining the development community, Deo worked in the government health sector in Uganda and, the private pharmaceutical sector. Deo holds a bachelor’s degree in pharmacy from Makerere University Medical School, and a master’s degree in public health and health economics from the University of Cape Town, South Africa.
