Chief of Party Claudio Saito
Claudio Saito has more than 40 years of experience in forestry, biodiversity, ecological corridor, and protected area management, and has worked on USAID programming for the last 20 years. Mr. Saito is currently the chief of party for an environmental and natural resource management program in Colombia. Prior to that, he served as a chief of party for USAID’s flagship biodiversity conservation project in Ecuador, leading efforts to manage protected areas and strengthen land use management. Mr. Saito has extensive experience working in the Amazon region, protecting remnants of dry tropical forests and developing sustainable incentives for conservation with the private and public sector. He has also led activities to strengthen government partnerships and institutional relationships around conservation.
