Guinea Country Director, USAID Global Health Supply Chain Program-Procurement and Supply Management (GHSC-PSM) Project Cheikh Gassama

Mr Cheikh Sidya Gassama is currently Country Director for the USAID Global Health Supply Chain-Procurement and Supply Management (GHSC-PSM) project in Guinea. Prior to that he served as Country Director for USAID/GHSC-PSM project in Burundi, and other postings include Guinea and Senegal. He has more than 20 years’ experience of developing tools, implementing and capacity building based on andragogy approach and health system strengthening. He has managed Global fund projects, USAID projects, and CIDA projects in areas of fight against malaria, HIV/AIDS and Health system strengthening.  His areas of technical expertise includes project management, governance, capacity-building, grant management, financial management, financial system, health system strengthening, and human resources management. He holds a MA in International Development at Laval University in Canada, MA in Finance and Banking, DESS in Auditing and master’s degree in Sciences economics at Cheikh Anta Diop University in Senegal. Most recently, Cheikh obtained a Mini master’s in supply chain management with the Arizona State University.
