Director, United Kingdom Division Andrea Wegner
Andrea Wegner is a program management and forced migration specialist with 10 years of experience designing and implementing democracy and governance, stabilization, and civil society programming in fragile and conflict-affected states. From 2014 to 2018, Ms. Wegner led Syria programming in various senior leadership positions, including chief of party and field program director for local governance and stabilization programs funded by the U.S. Department of State, USAID’s Office of Transition Initiatives, and DFID. She is a seasoned grants manager with experience designing and implementing complex grants programs. Andrea has broader experience managing multifaceted projects of more than £100 million in Afghanistan, Iraq, Myanmar, and Syria. Ms. Wegner specializes in providing in-depth training and mentoring to colleagues in grant design and implementation in challenging remote-work environments. She holds an M.A. in Arab studies, a graduate certificate in refugees and humanitarian emergencies from Georgetown University, and a B.A. in global studies from the University of Minnesota.
