Brand Partnership Draws Adrenaline Seekers from Around the World to Untapped Destination

As part of our sustainable tourism work in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Chemonics established a unique partnership with Red Bull to showcase Bosnia and Herzegovina as a world-class adventure sports destination to new international audiences. This effort involved exploring innovative and unconventional media collaborations to revitalize the country’s brand and expand its global promotion. The initiative drove growth after a massive drop in tourism caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. The pioneering partnership with Red Bull leaned heavily on the extensive expertise and network of Chemonics’ local team in Bosnia and Herzegovina, enabling local tourism boards and adventure companies to leverage Red Bull’s extensive media reach.

The team leveraged Red Bull’s widespread brand recognition by supporting their collaboration with two elite professional kayakers, Darko Savić, an accomplished kayaker hailing from the city of Banja Luka in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Slovenian Peter Kauzer, the world’s top-ranked kayaker.

We filmed in 15 locations across 100 kilometers of lakes and rivers in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The filmed content was showcased internationally and showcased Bosnia and Herzegovina’s thrilling watersports industry to nearly 50 million Facebook followers, 18 million Instagram followers, and 12 million YouTube followers.

Chemonics played a critical role in connecting key stakeholders, opening doors to new promotional opportunities, assembling top-tier production teams, and capturing compelling content designed to engage new audiences, as shown by the Red Bull Bosnia-Herzegovina kayaking production. With its extensive network and industry knowledge, Chemonics productions create lasting impact, significantly expanding the reach and influence of media work.
