The Roles
Chemonics is seeking to identify experts with deep technical expertise and practical experience delivering economic and finance advisory services in complex development environments. We are particularly interested in professionals who can provide short-term and long-term insight into the design, management, and delivery of demand-driven advisory mechanisms and who understand how development economics and finance expertise is deployed to address emerging policy and development priorities. Work may comprise economic policy reform, development finance, public financial management, and economic resilience initiatives.
Essential Experience and Knowledge
- Post-graduate (Master’s) degree in finance, economics, business administration, law, or other related fields is required
- At least ten (10) years of experience in relevant subject matter delivering quality services.
- Knowledge and understanding of the needs of different stakeholders such as women, the elderly, people with disabilities, and others with special mobility needs including an ability to communicate with a wide range of stakeholders
- Worked on economic governance, finance, and policy reform programs funded by bilateral or multilateral development partners to advance reform agendas
- Advised ministries of finance, treasury agencies, central banks, planning ministries, or investment promotion agencies
- Supported economic reform, public finance, trade, investment, or private sector development initiatives in developing and emerging economies
- Managed or contributed to technical assistance facilities that deploy short- and long-term advisers across multiple countries or sectors
- Experience designing, overseeing, or delivering advisory services under flexible, demand-responsive mechanisms
- Professional fluency in English is required. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with government counterparts in local languages is highly valued, particularly in Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Timor-Leste, Southeast Asia, and Pacific Island countries
