About the Opportunity
We are expanding our Florida based emergency management response cadre to support emergency activations, disaster response, and recovery operations. This bench enables the rapid deployment of qualified professionals to provide incident management, emergency operations, and sheltering support as surge needs arise.
This announcement is for the creation of a pre-qualified consultant roster. Selection to the bench does not guarantee assignment but positions the cadre for rapid deployment in response to operations in Florida.
Why This Work Matters
Emergency incidents require flexible, experienced professionals who can integrate quickly into structured response environments. Consultants on this bench may support critical response capacity by contributing to:
• Incident coordination and emergency operations support
• Planning, documentation, and operational coordination
• Logistics, mission support, and field operations
• Emergency congregate and non-congregate sheltering and mass care environments
• Support for both human and pet sheltering operations
Assignments may be onsite in Emergency operations centers (EOCs) or shelter settings, or field based throughout Florida depending on activation needs.
Core Capabilities Sought
While responsibilities vary by assignment, consultants on this response cadre typically have experience in:
• ICS/NIMS aligned emergency or disaster operations
• Emergency operations centers, shelter environments, or field response
• Coordination, planning, logistics, or operational support functions
• Working under compressed timelines during high tempo activations
General Requirements (vary by role)
• Prior experience in emergency management, disaster response, sheltering, or related fields
• Completion of FEMA Independent Study coursework (IS 100, IS 200, IS 700, IS 800, G-300, G-400, or equivalent)
• Relevant ICS, NQS, AHIMT, or comparable credentials (role dependent)
• Ability to pass a Level II background check
• Ability to deploy (14 day minimum) on short notice and work extended shifts as needed
• Ability to travel within Florida
• Authorization to work in the U.S.
