Component 2 Team Lead | Ukraine | 2026


Chemonics seeks a Component 2 Team Lead for the anticipated U.S. Department of State funded Support for the Return and Rehabilitation of Forcibly Transferred Ukrainian Children in Ukraine program. This $20-25 million project aims to support the Government of Ukraine and key partners to identify, return, rehabilitate, and reintegrate Ukrainian children and youth who were forcibly transferred to the Russian Federation or Russian-occupied territories. This includes improving government and partner capacity to locate and return children; building secure, privacy-compliant evidence systems that support domestic and international accountability mechanisms; and promoting sustainable, integrated care models that enable returned children and youth to safely reunite with families and reintegrate into Ukrainian society. The Component 2 Team Lead will be responsible for supporting the Government of Ukraine and local partners to deliver holistic, trauma informed rehabilitation and reintegration services, including medical and psychological care, family reunification, legal aid, case management, education, and pathways to employment for older youth.

The anticipated duration of the project is up to 30 months, and this position will be based in Ukraine. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead implementation of child rehabilitation, psychosocial support, family reunification, and reintegration activities
  • Develop and maintain strong collaborative relations, both formal and informal, with Government of Ukraine offices, relevant donor programs, and key international, regional, and national NGO counterparts to facilitate technical exchanges, promote consensus-building that results in the cohesive, effective and efficient services needed to support safe, secure and sustainable reintegration of returned children and youth
  • Coordinate with Ukrainian ministries, local service providers, and CSOs delivering medical, psychological, and social services
  • Design and oversee the implementation of strengthened and sustainable integrated care models and support services for returned children and youth, including targeted support (access to education, skills training, employment services) to groups aged 18–23
  • Ensure trauma informed and child centered approaches across all interventions

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in child protection, social work, mental wellness programming, or related sectors
  • A. in international development, psychology, or related field required, with a relevant M.A. preferred
  • Experience working with conflict affected children and youth
  • Strong coordination and leadership skills
  • Fluent Ukrainian required; English proficiency highly preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
