Beginning in 1993 after the collapse of the Soviet Union, Chemonics began work in Europe and Eurasia, partnering with local governments and institutions to promote strong business environments, good governance practices, and sustainable education programs for adults and children. The bedrock of our work in the region is lasting local partnerships that will continue to serve the needs of local citizens long after projects close. Our Europe and Eurasia portfolio is managed by two regional business units—Central and Eastern Europe and Caucasus and Central Asia. ​
