To reduce vulnerability among populations and hasten recovery from conflict in Angola, the Essential Health Services Program promoted health service quality, access, and expansion in Luanda, Huambo, and Lunda Norte.
Assistance to Health Systems Expansion | AHSE
To improve Ethiopia’s health infrastructure, the Assistance to Health Systems Expansion project built the capacity of local institutions to provide quality assurance and control, as well as services for construction, renovation, and maintenance of health centers and other facilities.
Flagship Palestinian Health Sector Reform and Development Project
The Palestinian Health Sector Reform and Development project worked with the Ministry of Health on a digital health information system that manages patient records better and improves the quality of medical care.

Indoor Residual Spraying Activity | IRS
Through the President’s Malaria Initiative, the Malawi Indoor Residual Spraying Activity worked to reduce malaria-related mortality by 50 percent in children under five and pregnant women, by targeting 85 percent coverage of the most vulnerable groups with indoor residual spraying.
Integrated HIV/AIDS Program | ProVIC
The Integrated HIV/AIDS Program curbed the disease and mitigated its impact in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Santénet aimed to improve the health of the Malagasy population by increasing community demand for and access to health products and services. Santénet focused on improving the quality of health services in national priority areas of nutrition, malaria, HIV/AIDS, STI prevention and control, family planning, reproductive health, and child health.
Monitoring and Evaluation and Technical Management Agents for Uganda's Civil Society Fund
The Civil Society Fund provided grants and capacity-building services to civil society organizations in Uganda, supporting the groups to scale-up effective and comprehensive HIV/AIDS prevention and care services, as well as to provide services to Ugandan orphans and other vulnerable children.

By building the capacity of a network of NGO health service providers, the Smiling Sun Franchise Program worked to promote greater access to quality health care in Bangladesh, particularly for the poor.
