The event also featured small businesses’ contributions to international development. Dave Pronchik of BlueForce a security and defense consulting firm presented his firm’s work with Chemonics in Albania and offered tips for successful partnering.
BlueForce first attended the Small Business Fair in 2004 and has since partnered with Chemonics on more than 20 proposals and 10 projects or indefinite quantity contracts.
“Involving and working with small businesses is a win-win situation” said Richard Dreiman president and CEO of Chemonics. “Building alliances with specialized firms brings more innovation to our work and ultimately produces better results for the beneficiaries of our projects.”
Of the 75 firms that have attended previous business fairs at Chemonics about 30 have since partnered with Chemonics. Also during the last three years small businesses have received nearly 40 percent or $47 million of the $124 million total dollar value of subcontracts awarded by Chemonics.
