A memorial service for Chemonics founder Thurston “Tony” Teele will be held next Saturday April 2, 2005 12:30 p.m. at National City Christian Church in Washington DC. A reception at the Andrew Mellon Auditorium will be held immediately following the service. All are welcome to attend the memorial and reception.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Waldenstrom’s Macroglobulinemia Program (Attn: “Tony Teele Research Fund”) and sent to Dana Farber Cancer Institute D1B07 44 Binney Street Boston MA 02155. Condolences for Barbara Teele and family can be sent to The Teele Family care of Juanita Christian 1133 20th St. N.W. Washington DC 20036.
Directions to church: National City Christian Church — 5 Thomas Circle N.W. at the intersection of Massachusetts Ave. Vermont Ave. and 14th Street.
There will be valet parking available at the memorial service. Parking for the service will also be available at the Washington Plaza Hotel 10 Thomas Circle across the street from the church.
If traveling by Metro take the orange line or blue line to McPherson Square and walk four blocks north.
Directions to reception: Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium — 1301 Constitution Ave. N.W. on The Mall between 14th and 12th streets.
Four 25-passenger buses will be on hand to transport people from the memorial service to the reception. The service will continually operate from 2-4 p.m. between the church and the reception hall.
If driving from the church take 14th street south to Constitution. Valet parking available.
If traveling by Metro take the orange line or blue line to Smithsonian exit north and cross The Mall or take the red line to Federal Triangle exit on the 12th Street side and walk half a block to Constitution Ave.
