Working under contract to the
U.S. Agency for Inter-national Development and other foreign aid donors,
Chemonics designs and implements development projects in many of the world’s
developing coun-tries. Integrating a range of consulting capabilities, we offer
solutions in finan-cial services, private sector development, health,
envi-ronmental management, gender, crisis prevention and recovery, democracy and
governance, and agri-culture. Through our work, we promote meaningful change by
helping people live healthier, more pro-ductive, and more indepen-dent lives.
In the small town of Hamata, on the Egyptian southern Red Sea coast, Chemonics is working to upgrade the infrastructure of the local school to better prepare the youth for the future, develop a waste management facility to create jobs and protect the environment, provide new water trucks to increase the total area for fresh water delivery, and install new generators to provide longer hours for electricity.
Chemonics' Egypt LIFE Red Sea Project is working with local communities, the tourism industry, and the Egyptian Government to promote sustainable environmental tourism and improve the lives of local communities in Hamata and many other communities along the Red Sea coast.
